Tulips have to be one of my favourite flowers to grow and cut.  The crazier the better. As the days and weeks pass they come to life even more and become more and more beautiful. This year I went a little tulip crazy, planting hundreds if not thousands. Its looks like there has been an explosion of colour.

What an amazing collection. If I had to pick a favourite it would be the orange parrot fourth from last, although I’m going to go for species tulips next year and plant some in long grass, and hope they come back, or even better, multiply. Would love to know all their names!

Have you been to Keukenhof to see the tulips there? Glorious! If you should ever venture to Ottawa in April, the tulip festival is something to behold. In honour of Canada hosting the Dutch royal family during WWII, the Dutch government gave thousands of bulbs to be planted in the capital city. Truly magnificent.

Mike thank-you again for your comment. I have never been to Keukenhof to see the tulips, although have seen many photographs. I must add it to our list of places to go and see. As for the tulip festival in Ottawa , that does sound amazing and complelty magical. For a long time i have wanted to come to Canada. Maybe the next time we fly to NZ.

Thanks again Mike. Hope your having a great week. Charlie
